June 2025 | Sulphur Springs, TX — A historic milestone was celebrated this week as the groundbreaking ceremony officially launched the Matrix Data Center Campus, a next-generation 3GW hyperscale data center development in the heart of East Texas. This flagship public-private partnership between MSB Global Services, LLC, the City of Sulphur Springs, and Hopkins County is redefining what sustainable infrastructure means in the age of artificial intelligence.
Located on a 390-acre site, Phase I of the Matrix Campus will feature 8 high-capacity buildings, delivering a combined 800MW of critical IT load. These facilities are being custom-designed to meet the demanding power and cooling requirements of AI hyperscalers and next-gen colocation users. Cutting-edge technologies such as Direct-To-Chip cooling for NVIDIA GB300 GPUs and immersion-cooled tanks will form the backbone of this hyper-efficient infrastructure.
Construction began in February 2025 with Trinity Road and utility infrastructure development. Today, the site is buzzing with activity, with round-the-clock grading operations underway across Phase I. The first 100MW building, built entirely on a Bloom Energy fuel cell-powered microgrid, is scheduled for delivery in March 2026, with a new 100MW facility to follow every month thereafter.
Phase II Expansion: 1,200MW Geothermal-Powered Campus by 2027
Phase II will add another 1,200MW of capacity across an adjacent 780-acre parcel, utilizing geothermal microgrid technology to further reduce the project’s carbon footprint and achieve true net-zero emissions.
